My travel vehicles of choice are single cylinder dual sport bikes. In 2009 we tested a TW200 to make sure the bike could handle the rigors of long distance touring, and this machine proved itself to be very capable, light weight dual sport tourer. Though slow, it is very durable and reliable.
The TW proved itself by completing a trip from Washington State to Minnesota (about a 2000 mile trip-one way) pulling a single wheel trailer known as the Unitrak built and designed by Dauntless Motors (Enumclaw, WA). Health issues caused me to move into this direction and my end my riding fairly soon-but I refuse to quite riding .
I now have two vehicles that I can use for back country travel; another Yamaha TW200, a BMW F650GS. For paved touring I can use the BMW F650GS.
I will be posting the pictures from my trips here on SmugMug. I have a lifetime of pictures that I need to sort through. Also, this last year I officially made the transition from film to the digital format and have much to learn. The point and shot features are nice but I need to be able to do better than that. Lightroom lets you fix lots of this but I want to take better pictures on the get go
I originally joined SmugMug to archive my photos and to use the links to post to the motorcycle/travel forums, and I also needed a place to upload up some videos; I have I have a group of cameras and Lightroom and need to get my butt in gear to catalog all of the pictures I have-(14,000 or so pictures) That too will keel me busy.
And time is so short.
